DTES SOLIDARITY DELEGATION TO THE MUSQUEAM PROTEST SITE
Friday June 1
9am
Meet at Carnegie to go to the vigil site together
(at 1338 SW Marine Drive)
As Phoenix writes in the new issue of the DT East, “The Musqueam Nation is fighting to keep an ancient burial ground from being further desecrated. The site is being disturbed by a developer, Century Holdings Ltd., who is digging up the land for condos, located at the foot of the Arthur Laing bridge at 1338 Southwest Marine Drive. So far, the remains of two adults and two infants have been found.”
The DNC Board has also drafted a statement in solidarity with the Musqueam struggle, join us as we travel out there to deliver it and our pledge to support them in their fight for cultural, heritage, and sovereignty rights.
